01 Welcome to The Jackson Companies
The Jackson Companies, located in Myrtle Beach, S.C., was founded by Mary Emily and Nelson Jackson and their five daughters. It is a family-owned enterprise that includes Prestwick Golf & Country Club, Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Ocean Lakes Properties, Ocean Lakes RV Center, Ocean Lakes Golf Cars, Crystal Lake Mobile Home Village, Ocean Lakes Village, and the SayeBrook Town Center. The Jackson Companies also owns several hundred acres of undeveloped land in the Myrtle Beach area. Several divisions of The Jackson Companies have been recognized nationally in both the golf and camping industries.
The family owned business employs more than 300 teammates year-round. An additional 300 teammates are hired for the busy camping and golf seasons. In 2006, it was named one of the fifteen "Best Places to Work in South Carolina."

Largest Campground on East Coast
Ocean Lakes Family Campground was built by Mary Emily and Nelson Jackson, along with their five daughters, starting in 1970. On July 2, 1971, Ocean Lakes opened with 30 campsites and one bathhouse. Nelson Jackson was 50 years old at the time. “People were lined up outside the gate by the hundreds and we were clearing spots for their campers as fast as they could park ‘em,” he explains with a smile.

Shopping with Heart and Soul
SayeBrook is a 700-acre traditional neighborhood development incorporating residential housing, office uses, medical uses, civic uses, and a mixed-use area called SayeBrook Town Center.
The SayeBrook Town Center is the ‘heart and soul’ of the SayeBrook project that is the mixed-use center that includes retail, restaurant, office and civic uses within the 40 acre Town Center area located at the corner of 544 and US 17 Bypass.

Ocean Lakes Family Campground has been a family vacation destination for over 38 years. Built by Nelson and Mary Emily Jackson and their five daughters in 1970, it is the largest campground on the East Coast and one of the largest campgrounds in the United States. Ocean Lakes has 3,435 campsites on 310 oceanfront acres.

Prestwick Golf and Country Club features and 18-hole golf course designed by Pete and P.B. Dye. Recognized as one of the area's premier tennis centers, Prestwick offers members and their guests eleven clay courts, two hard courts and a fully stocked pro shop. Ocean Lakes Family Campground is the largest campground on the East Coast and one of the largest in the United States. It has received numerous awards for excellence. It is the 2011-2012 National “RV Park of the Year” (Mega Park Category) and has received that honor from the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) five times. In 2006, Ocean Lakes received the prestigious South Carolina Governor’s Cup for making a significant economic impact on South Carolina. In 2010, it received the Earth Day Award from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control for its iCare Program.
